Outing day

Another outing with Mum today, this time down to Slinfold, a very pretty village in Sussex. On the way we drove through E's Green, the only village of its name in the world, so E could see her village. There was even a house called E's, there, which was the most beautiful Tudor-ish mansion with twisted brick chimneys in abundance, ponds and gates and half-timbering and stables and everything one could desire in a house; or so we all thought (except J), anyway. E wants to live there, which is fair enough.
We had lunch in a nice pub in Slinfold, and then did a peaceful afternoon geocache. At least, the weather was peaceful - sun, shining over the fields and glinting on the frost pockets in the shade, etc - and so would we have been, had not one of us misread a clue, another of us forgotten what the directions said, and an Nasty Scene not ensued. Still, in the end we found both parts of the cache and went home feeling more or less successful. Which is ok, I suppose.
Spent the evening clipping, bathing, etc, S. I can see how canine hairdressing could become addictive, if only it didn't take so much time.
