It doesn't, of course, but it seems like it by this stage in the winter. Heavy wind today, too. J's plans to go down to the boat at the weekend look less and less appealing by the minute.
A busy morning at work - collapsed kitten rather than hound this time, for variety - including Silvius the cat, who I finally got round to bringing to work with me: turns out he's got moderate kidney failure with anaemia, as suspected, so his little life is also drawing to a close, slowly. Not much progress on the domestic front, of course, being a Thursday. Had to assemble ingredients for lasagne for J to take into school tomorrow - she enjoyed mincing the end of the beef, imagining that it was a girl at school who's currently picking on her, and showed touching naiveity when looking at the bolognaise sauce cooking - "Oh look, there's even a leaf bubbling round in it!" An awful lot of packing up small amounts of ingredients in plastic pots and so on, but at least she's learning to cook.
Harp this evening, and was introduced to the mysteries of the Dominant Seventh. Music theory is something that I still only really have a hazy grasp of, beyond what I learnt as a child, that is.
